VPNs are popular as well as notorious. Because they can provide you access to any region and any tv show. But it is hard to find a good vpn that really works. If you do find a good one it gives you so many ads that you get irritated.

But it seems like that is going to change because many apps are good and secure out there. But how do we differentiate between the apps?. It is not easy to find the ones that really do the trick and lets you bypass your normal ip address.

Google’s tuesday blog post says it is giving badges to the VPN apps. This will help the users to select the ones which provide good services. The apps which get the badge will keep the user’s privacy and security in account.

The badge shows that the app developers have taken extra care of the google play store safety and the security measures guidelines.

It also shows that the developers of the app have completed MASA (mobile application security assessment) of level 2 validation.

In simple words it means that the app is secure and takes account of the security measures.

Requirements To Get A Badge.

In order to attain the verify badge the VPN app needs to complete specific requirements. Which are down below.

● App should be on the google play store for 90 days.

● It should also meet all the API target level standards for the google play apps.

● The VPN app should have to have 10000 plus installs.

● It should have at least 250 reviews to get the verified badge.

Importance of badges

According to Google the badge on apps will help make the applications more prominent among other VPN apps. This will show on the detail page of the app. The search results will also show the badge.

The technological company ensures that VPN apps with badges will have their own surfaces. Where they will stand out from other apps.

The change is not last minute. Google always wants to show good apps prominently. So the consumer can find secure and safe apps quickly. In May last year, the tech giant added government labels on the federal apps. So everybody could easily identify that the apps are officially state apps.

Conclusion

Google is always trying to maintain a good environment for customers. To keep the user’s info safe and secure it has taken many measures before. This time is no different considering it is still trying to innovate new ideas. Verify badge initiative is one of these ideas.
